Attorney Profile: Jason Perry, Advocate for Military Personnel and Veterans

Unparalleled Legal Experience Fueled by Dedicated Military Service

As a former active duty Judge Advocate, my career has been marked by a deep commitment to serving those who have dedicated their lives to our nation's service. My tenure as a JAG officer culminated with my assignment as Chief, Soldiers' Counsel at the Army's Texas Physical Evaluation Board. In this position, I was responsible for representing Soldiers at formal hearings, establishing policies and procedures for our office, and training attorneys in the intricate area of military disability law. Additionally, I conducted training for Medical Evaluation Board personnel, including Convening Authorities, across the Army and Air Force, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the legal aspects of military disability.

As a civilian attorney, for the past 15 years, I have devoted my practice to helping military members and Veterans at all stages of their disability cases with a primary goal of securing the maximum compensation and benefits for them and their families and positioning them for a financially secure post-military life. I believe that after honorably serving the Nation in the military, members deserve a rich and rewarding life, and I fight to provide clients the financial freedom to pursue their dreams. In order to do this, I provide services at all stages of a case. This means that I assist clients wherever they are in their military disability journey, from even before a Medical Evaluation Board is convened through the Physical Evaluation Board and post-hearing appeals, including Boards for Correction of Military/Naval Records applications, and in the Federal Courts. I am one of the very few attorneys who have successfully sued the government by appealing a PEB case all the way up to the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. A review of the decisions of the US Court of Federal Claims will reveal that I am the most experienced attorney for military disability and pay cases currently practicing before the Court. The cases I have won are routinely cited in judicial opinions, and at the board level, I am also among the most experienced attorneys in the Nation, having represented more than 500 members across all branches of service at the Formal PEB and in administrative and judicial appeals.

I graduated from Quinnipiac University School of Law in 2001 as a Dean's Scholar, recipient of the American Jurisprudence Award for Evidence, and in the top quarter of my class. Prior to my legal education, I earned a cum laude degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1997.

Licenses and Accreditations

Admitted to practice in the State of Connecticut, the US Court of Federal Claims, the US Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims, and the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, I am also an accredited VA attorney, authorized to represent clients across all military branch Physical Evaluation Boards.

Military Service and JAG Corps Experience

My military journey began in 1992 as an infantryman in the Massachusetts Army National Guard, with training at Ft. Benning, GA. After earning a commission in 1996 through Officer Candidate School, I commanded the 1166th Transportation Company at Ft. Bragg, NC, and graduated from the Judge Advocate General Corps Officer Basic Course on the Commandant's List.
